Sapporo 2019 ski jumping is behind us! It was an exciting time when the Polish competitor Kamil Stoch made a record jump. Austrian Stefan Kraft ruled the Okurayama, and the Poles were just behind the podium.
Stefan Kraft's third victory
The Sunday World Cup competition in Sapporo 2019 ended with the third consecutive victory of Austrian jumper Stefan Kraft. The athlete was second to none. In the first round he jumped 135 m, and in the second round he jumped 128,5 m. Ultimately he managed to score 248,2 points to be 10 points ahead of 18-year-old Slovene Tim Zajac. The Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi took third place and the podium. Kraft's first place in Sapporo allowed him to take second place in the overall World Cup.

Kamil Stoch's record jump
Ski jumping in Sapporo for Kamil Stoch was surprising. The Polish jumper in Saturday's competition showed Okurayama's record jump jumping on a distance of 148,5 m. Sunday's competition was not that favorable for him because due to good weather conditions it was decided to lower the starting beam from nine to seven. As a result of the change, Stoch made the Sunday jump in the first round 22 meters shorter than on the previous day. Ultimately, the Polish competitor took 6th place in the competition after two series.

Ski jumping in Sapporo and the Poles
This time the Poles were just behind the podium. On Sunday, just like on Saturday, jumpers in Sapporo could count on good winds and weather conditions, which of course he took advantage of. Piotr Zyla. In the first series of today's competition he jumped 139,5 m, and in the second 138,5 m. Even though the Pole's second jump was the same distance as Slovenian Timi Zajac, it was rated worse by the judges. The Pole finished the competition in 4th place place ex aequo with the Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud. Kamil Stoch managed to take 6th place, Kamil Kubacki 12th, Maciej Kot 21st, Stefan Hula 25th and Jakub Wolny 30th.
