Sick meat from Poland in the amount of almost 800 kg was detected by the French sanitary services. Meat was found in nine companies from the agri-food sector. Immediately after the incident, an investigation was launched into a slaughterhouse selling diseased meat.

Sick meat from Poland sold by one of the slaughterhouses was found in nine French companies from the agri-food sector. The French Minister of Agriculture and Food, Didier Guillaume, informed on Friday about the whole unfortunate event for our country. The amount of meat found is almost 800 kg. In a slaughterhouse that sold sick meat, an investigation was initiated to check, inter alia, the slaughter.

Confiscated 150 kg, and where is the rest?
It turns out that after verifying that exactly 795 kg of sick meat from Poland was sent to France, 150 kg of the total were confiscated at the moment. But what about the rest? Didier Guillaume, Minister of Agriculture and Food, informs: “I think during the day we will find out where we are in terms of the remaining 650 kg. Recognition of products that go to France works quite well. We do not know if they were traded or left in cold stores "

European Commission
As a result of the whole incident, the European Commission inspectors will come to Poland next Monday to investigate the entire case related to the illegal slaughter of cows, which took place overnight without the supervision of a veterinarian. The scene of the whole event was the slaughter in the district of Otrów Mazowiecki, from which as much as 9,5 tons of meat was sold abroad and to Poland. Of the total amount of the sick meat, 2,7 tons went to 10 countries, including France, Sweden, Portugal and Estonia, and the rest to 20 points in Poland.
