The government emphasized that from next winter it will take serious action against foreign truck drivers who break the law. The penalty will be a temporary ban from entering Norway. Minister of Transport Jon Georg Dale points out: “Patience with foreign drivers who do not follow Norwegian road rules has run out. (…)We cannot allow them to be on the roads in winter There were trucks driving around Norway with used summer tires. Detection of a serious violation of the Act on traffic will now result in receiving a yellow card. A repeat offense will result in receiving a red card and expulsion from Norway.”

Tightening of regulations - draft changes in the parliament

When are the first driver checks?

Changes in law coming soon. The machinery of formalities that is supposed to lead to the introduction of changes has started. The draft has already been sent for parliamentary consultations, with the hope that it will be adopted. The legislative changes are intended to provide the possibility of temporary expulsion of drivers who violate the regulations traffic. The imposed penalty may last one or even several years.
