The government emphasized that from next winter it will take serious action against foreign truck drivers who break the law. The penalty will be a temporary ban from entering Norway. Tightening of regulations - draft changes in the parliament
When are the first driver checks?
Changes in law coming soon. The machinery of formalities that is supposed to lead to the introduction of changes has started. The draft has already been sent for parliamentary consultations, with the hope that it will be adopted. The legislative changes are intended to provide the possibility of temporary expulsion of drivers who violate the regulations traffic. The imposed penalty may last one or even several years. It is worth noting that tightening controls may make drivers more careful and prudent.
Penalties may be imposed on:
- persons with a temporary residence permit,
- nationals of countries European Economic Area (EEA) with short-term stay,
- professional drivers from EU/EEA countries.
