Good news for landline callers. It will be cheaper from September. The Norwegian Communications Authority (Nkom) explicitly stated that calls to special numbers could not be charged with higher charges. Norwegians will have to worry about higher charges for calls, among others, to hotlines.

What will change?

In just two months, specific changes that will affect the amount of bills. All calls to three or five digit numbers starting with 85, 810 and 815 will cost at the regular rate.

Special numbers - what are they?

By special numbers we mean all kinds of hotlines. Connections with:

  • police stations,
  • the fire brigade,
  • hospitals,
  • ambulance,
  • service office,
  • offices.

Certainly, each of us knows this feeling when he calls the so-called special number and waits many minutes while waiting for the connection while listening to the music. The clock is ticking, the impulses are flying, frustration is growing due to the awareness that we will pay a lot. Now we will be able to carry out such conversations calmly and without stress.
