- From next year, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration will become a leaner and more efficient organization. It's only natural that then we also become smaller leaders, says Bjørne Grimsrud, acting road director. [August 26.08.2019, XNUMX]

Let's see how many directors have been resigned

The number of department directors has been reduced from 100 today to 58. For a complete list of department directors and where they should have office space, please visit https://www.vegvesen.no/.

Since when are the changes related to road management?

The Norwegian Public Roads Authority will be responsible for the whole From 1 January 2020, the Norwegian Public Road Administration is moving from today's regional organization to a new function-based organization. It will consist of six divisions in addition to the main road directorate. New department directors have recently been appointed, and the heads of the new departments and the Road Directorate were introduced before the summer.

Almost half as many department directors in Norwegian Road Administration Public What is it like now?

Being the only one that dominates the road sector in Norway, the Norwegian Public Road Administration will be responsible for the national road network from New Year's Eve. At the same time, the new poviats take over the tasks related to their own roads. In addition, we have all 356 municipalities that now also have a significant road network under their responsibility.

2020 changes

- From 2020, we will be a smarter, smoother and smaller organization with clear overall responsibility for road and transport in Norway. The Norwegian Public Roads Authority will remain the largest single player on Norway's roads, with quality and responsibility for the whole, says Bjørne Grimsrud.
