The Norwegian Post (Posten) has already officially announced significant changes a few days ago. The modifications will concern both the staff and the method of delivering all types of parcels to customers - letters and parcels. The post office announces serious cost cuts - the uninteresting economic situation and the weakening koruna make it necessary to look for ways to save. What will the situation look like in practice? Are there pending layoffs? We encourage you to read the text rich in the necessary information.

Norwegian Post - cost cuts will hit customers

First of all, Norwegian Post announces a change in the frequency of delivering parcels to customers. Year by year, fewer and fewer people send traditional letters, including electricity and electricity bills - all utilities are delivered to customers electronically. When it comes to online shopping, we are increasingly willing to use courier companies. The job of postmen is becoming less and less profitable. From the new year, postmen will deliver letters and parcels to our homes every other day - ultimately, according to Norwegian Post's plans, only twice a week.

Norwegian Post relies on modern solutions ...

Norwegian Post wants to implement it modern solutions, which have been working perfectly for courier companies for several years now. This mainly concerns SMS and e-mail notifications about the shipment and the introduction of parcel lockers within the Norwegian Post. This is good news, especially for working or simply busy people. The truth is that the postman usually delivers mail in the morning and morning hours. We are usually at work then and we are not able to collect the letter on a given date. The parcel locker would help to deal with this problem. The customer receives information via text message about the address of the parcel and collects the parcel using a special code.

Norwegian Post - layoffs are coming ...

Unfortunately, the modifications also apply to the staff. Many people will lose their jobs. According to the latest forecasts - Posten plans to reduce the number of employees, starting with the dismissal of 300 people.

And you use Posten's services? How often do you send parcels, letters? Will we be picking up letters at the post office soon?
