Christmas is behind us. In a few days, New Year's Eve and New Year's Eve are just a few days away. Each of us always wants to spend this time with our loved ones. We want to enjoy our free time - welcome the New Year with those who were really important to us this past year. They supported us, believed in our success, and were there for us. Above all, we want to have great fun. Today, as we say goodbye to the past year, we ask ourselves a question. How do Norwegians celebrate New Year's Eve? In addition, we will check whether it is different from the way Poles party?

City events…

Fireworks displays take place all over Norway. This applies to the largest cities. These shows are often accompanied by accompanying events: concerts, exhibitions, attractions for the whole family. The so-called house parties. It is worth noting here that Norwegians are more willing to choose even a modest gathering with friends, in an intimate but trusted group, rather than crazy partying until the morning in a club or bar. Of course, as always happens - it doesn't matter whether at home or in the city, the important point of the event is food, snacks and drinks. The New Year's Eve table in Norwegian homes is dominated by ribs, lamb pinnekjøtt and turkey. Norwegians serve rice pudding as a dessert or an additional snack. What about alcohol? Typically, Norwegians drink red wine and gløgg with honey, cloves, ginger, cinnamon and orange peel. Just like in Poland, you drink champagne after 12 p.m.

  Speech from the Royal Palace…

The king's speech has been a must-have for New Year's Eve since 1935. On channel NRK 1, in the evening, from the Royal Palace, you can hear a summary of the passing year and wishes for the citizens of Norway. Many Norwegians then sit in front of their TV screens and listen to the king's speech. We can learn more about the speech from the Royal Palace on the official website of this TV station: https://www.nrk.no/.

To sum up. No matter how we celebrate this day. Of course, great fun and our safety count. Therefore, have fun. No matter if in the Polish or Polish-Norwegian group.
