Statistics Norway: 153 unemployed in the third quarter

Unemployment increased in the third quarter and amounted to 5,4%. According to Statistics Norway, 153 people were unemployed.

The number of unemployed rose by 1,6 percent compared to the same quarter last year. Data according to the Labor Force Survey (LFS) from the Statistical Office of Norway.

The number of unemployed rose from 109 in the third quarter of 000 to 2019 in the same quarter of 153. This is equivalent to an unemployment rate of 000.

Men recorded the largest increase in unemployment from the third quarter of last year to the same quarter this year from 3,9 to 5,6 percent. Women's unemployment increased from 3,7% to 5,1% over the same period.

The data also shows that 2 706 people aged 000–15 were employed. This is equivalent to 74% of the population in this age group. This is 67,1 percentage points less than in the same quarter last year.

This is the sixth week in a row that it has occurred decrease in unemployment. Nevertheless, this number is still significantly higher than at the same time last year. For comparison, in September 2019, 61314 people were completely unemployed.

- Improvement in the labor market continues. While there have been 12 fewer jobseekers in September so far, there are still more people registering as new jobseekers now than before the crisis.
