The Oslo Police District is closing passport offices and the immigration administration is canceling further action as a result of the infection situation.
Passport and ID offices
From March 17 inclusive to April 9, 2021, Passport and ID Offices will no longer accept applicants due to the infection situation in Oslo and Viken. We will be available by phone during normal telephone hours and the passport can be ordered in the event of a necessary journey. The arrangement is made by phone.
You will be notified via SMS if your visit is canceled.
Section for Immigration management
The Immigration Section has decided to cancel the extra hours. You will be notified by email if your visit is canceled in advance.
Residence permit applications can be submitted digitally. People who are currently being considered will receive a message soon an email from the Oslo Police District with instructions on what to do. People who have residence permit applications that cannot be submitted digitally for technical reasons can contact our information hotline on 22 34 21 00. This does not apply to applications for Norwegian citizenship.
The passport offices and immigration office in Oslo limit their options even further
The Oslo Police District will close its passport offices and the immigration office is canceling face-to-face meetings to stem the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
Passport offices
From March 17 to April 9, 2021 capacity passport offices in Oslo will be reduced. This is due to infection control measures and is a direct response to the current infection situation caused by Covid-19 in Oslo and Viken. We will be available on our service phones during normal business hours and in emergencies you will be able to order passports. These appointments will be made by calling our service line in advance.

The office immigration
The immigration office has decided to cancel additional visits. You will receive an e-mail if your visit is canceled. This e-mail may be sent at short notice.
Many applications for a residence permit and travel documents can be submitted electronically. Affected applicants will receive an email from the Oslo Police District within a short time. This email will contain information and instructions on how to apply for a residence permit electronically. People who have applications that cannot be delivered electronically for technical reasons, please contact our hotline at 22 34 21 00. No this applies to applications for Norwegian citizenship as these applications cannot be submitted electronically.
