On Friday afternoon, Agder police received help from the Oslo bomber platoon in Tvedestrand after discovering significant amounts of explosives there. The bomb squad is a national police relief unit that is routinely involved in identifying, clearing and removing suspicious finds, such as explosives.
It was the actions in Arendal and Grimstad on Wednesday that led to this discoveries.
- The investigation and actions in Arendal and Grimstad led to another arrest on Thursday afternoon. This in turn led us to an address in Tvedestrand, where the Oslo bomber brigade is working on the removal of explosives, said section manager at Arendal and Froland police station Helge Torsvik.

- There is currently nothing in the investigation to indicate that the accused was supposed to use these explosives to harm others or otherwise cause harm. Of course, the police still take it seriously. These are significant amounts of explosives and if not handled properly, they can have serious consequences, says Torsvik.
Six people have already been arrested in this case
The police also detained another person in connection with the ongoing investigation. This means that six people have already been arrested in this case, three of whom have been temporarily arrested.
- Now the police continue their work, including interrogating the accused in the case. Whether this will lead to more arrests or investigations at other addresses, the investigation will show, says Torsvik.
