Oscar night is behind us. This year, experts decided to appreciate real, traditional Danish cinema. “Na rauszu” – a new work by Thomas Vinterberg received a statuette in the category – best international film. This is an important moment for Danish cinematography and for all production creators. Director Thomas Vinterberg surprised us a few years ago with the moving picture "The Hunt". To this day, this film and the excellent role of Mads Mikkelsen, who plays a kindergarten teacher accused of molesting a little girl, are considered one of the peak achievements of Nordic cinema. Also now, the director invited this actor to cooperate - the effect is great!
“On a roll” – extremely moving Mads Mikkelsen…
Actor Mads Mikkelsen is one of the most recognizable Danish actors in Poland. We value him for his honesty and authenticity. Creations that intrigue, move and give food for thought. Each subsequent picture with this actor in the cast is unique. It does not let you forget about itself. Is it the same this time? Absolutely! We get a perfect mix of drama, psychological film and black comedy. Production that leaves a mark. This is undoubtedly a movie that we will talk about with our loved ones. With family and friends. Perhaps it will make us sensitive to other people - it will allow us to look at them more broadly.
First of all - a film about a problem that we often sweep under the rug ...
“Thomas Vinterberg calls his latest film – a hit at festivals in Cannes, Toronto and San Sebastián – a praise of life, not drinking. But can we still experience states of intoxication without interest? The main character, Martin, was played with admirable sensitivity, charisma and empathy by Mads Mikkelsen - and this is undoubtedly one of the best performances of his career. Martin is a history teacher, husband and father of two children, and above all, a man on the verge of a nervous breakdown. For him, the only cure for a midlife crisis, burnout and relationship problems is alcohol. He is taking part in a buddy experiment - four teachers are testing the theory that humans are supposedly born with a deficiency of alcohol in the body, which needs to be constantly replenished. Cinema close to man ...
“Na rauszu” with Oskar. As is the case with Scandinavian cinema, it is a moving production - very close to humanity. An individual tragedy against a social background. Danish cinema shocking with brutality and uncompromisingness. Laughter through tears - classic Scandinavian black humor mixed with taboo topics. The suffering of a human being that we are usually afraid to talk about out loud.
To sum up. Pre-premiere screenings have already taken place in Polish cinemas. Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic prevented further screenings. The cinemas are to open at the end of May. If that happens - we recommend this painting! Certainly, it will not be missing in Polish studio cinemas and more.
