Over the past two weekends, police have noticed that many young people flock to parties. The police had to call their parents / guardians, partly because the young people were intoxicated and were unable to take care of themselves. In several cases, the police did not find the parents / guardians of the young people.

Police made an appeal to parents at Innlandet ahead of the upcoming long weekend

That is why the police have made an appeal to parents in Innlandet ahead of the upcoming long weekend to work with young people to develop good plans for the next few days. The police ask parents to be interested in young people's plans so that they know where they are going.

Be committed and caring, set common rules

Arrange driving and pickup for events and social gatherings. Clear communication with young people can reduce drug use, for example. Also talk to other parents. Set common rules, such as when they will come home.

Remember that there is an age limit of 18 for drinking alcohol

Also, be sure to stay up to date with current infection control policies, especially when it comes to large gatherings at meetings and the use of face masks.

Police also want to emphasize that most parents understand and follow young people, says Rune Otterstad, head of the combined prevention unit at Innlandet Police District.
