The Norwegian Directorate of Health has been commissioned to evaluate how voluntary vaccination with Johnson & Johnson in Norway can be carried out. Consequently, the vaccine is not yet available to those who wish to receive it.
Doctors receive inquiries from people who want this vaccine
Following the government's decision to voluntarily release the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, doctors are receiving inquiries from people who want the vaccine. A vaccine is not yet available and therefore it is not necessary to contact doctors and record your interest or appointments.
It is important that we prepare good guidelines and information material
– It's good that more people want to get vaccinated, but it's important that we have good guidance and information materials in place before the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is offered on a voluntary basis. It is especially important that people receive good information about risks and rare but serious side effects of this vaccine. The Norwegian Directorate of Health is currently working on this, says Minister of Health and Care Bent Høie.

The Norwegian Directorate of Health will assess who may be eligible for the vaccine and how the vaccination should be carried out.
