According to the Norwegian police, on Monday and Tuesday there was a very long queue of people waiting to enter Norway at the border in Svinesund.

This significantly contributed to the lengthening of the entry queue to Norway

As many travelers had not completed the mandatory entry registration beforehand, police teams at the border had to spend time guiding around and assisting in filling in the form, rather than carrying out border checks. This significantly contributed to the lengthening of the entry queue to Norway.

Registration of entry to Norway. All travelers must complete an entry form

- We note that many fully vaccinated people think they do not need to register, but that is a misconception. All travelers must complete a form, says Merete Beck, head of the immigration department for the Eastern Police District.

The police also note increased traffic at closed border crossing points.

- We also suspect here that some fully vaccinated people believe that they are free to use all border crossings. In the Eastern Police District, only E6 Svinesund, E18 Ørje and FV106 Bjørkebekk (8.00:15.30 AM - XNUMX:XNUMX PM) are open to regular traffic. No other transitions are allowed unless you belong to one of the exception groups, says Beck.
