There is no denying that climate change is changing the world for good, and not for the better. There has been a lot of talk about plastic pollution in the oceans for a long time. Of course, there are catalysts that help decompose plastic - unfortunately, they cannot cope with small particles, and they also have trouble reaching some places. Therefore, they are not entirely effective! Microrobots may soon change the world of science for good.

Microrobots for "special matters" - microplastics in the oceans ...

This could undoubtedly be a big scientific breakthrough. Microrobots can make our world slower from pollution.

“Martin Pumera from the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague and his colleagues wanted to create a solar-powered catalyst that moves towards, sticks to and breaks up microplastics. To transform the catalytic material into light-driven microrobots, researchers created star-shaped particles of bismuth vanadate and then evenly coated their structures, 4-8 μm wide, with magnetic iron oxide. Microrobots swim in a maze of channels and interact with pieces of microplastic. " (Young Technik.pl).

A scientific discovery that could change the dark face of the oceans ...

Scientists say this is just the beginning of the amazing news that we will witness. We must do everything in our power to stop the process of pollution that is harmful to us and to the whole world. Many countries are introducing ecological solutions. So is there any hope for the world?

“A country that is boldly entering the ecological path, that is China, banned the import of plastic waste from the European Union at the beginning of the year. Fortunately, the European Parliament adopted the pre-binding recycling targets for plastic packaging of 55% by 2025. Moreover, segregated waste cannot be stored at all. In turn, under the EU's circular economy plan, plastic packaging products are to be designed and manufactured to be recyclable. It is also planned to limit the use of microparticles in products. There are also various technologies and inventions cleaning up plastic. " (Green projects).
