DNB raises mortgage rates by 0,25 percentage points

DNB will therefore be one of the first banks to increase mortgage rates after Norges Bank raised its main rate on Thursday percentage point to 0,25 percentage points. Before Thursday, the main one interest rate has been 0 percent since May 7 last year.

DNB reports that the new interest rates will apply from September 28 for new customers, and from November 12 for existing customers.

– In light of Norges Bank's decision to raise the key interest rate at its interest rate meeting on 23 September and changes interest rates on the money market, Nordea has decided to adjust the interest rates on mortgage loans and savings accounts, says Randi Marjamaa, head of the retail department at Nordea Norway. Nordea also reports that the interest rate on the deposit side will increase by 0,25 percentage points.

"The fact that interest rates are rising is in itself a sign that we are recovering from a very challenging situation in which the pandemic has affected our lives and the Norwegian economy," says Marjamaa.

The new interest rate on existing loans will apply from November 5.
