The European Medicines Agency (EMA) is considering recommending a dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. On Tuesday, they will announce the results of the talks at a press briefing.

It is not known whether they reached a conclusion or what exactly the briefing will involve. EMA announced in September that it had started evaluating whether to make a recommendation for a so-called "booster dose".

On Tuesday, at 14.00 p.m., the Norwegian Medicines Agency will inform us about this matter.

In particular, the question is whether the third dose of Pfizer vaccine should be given six months after the two doses have been given to people over 16 years of age.

Israel has already started giving third doses to the population, and the United States plans to consider it. Several countries, including Germany and France, are considering giving a booster dose to risk groups.

In Norway, people with weakened immune systems are receiving a third dose of the vaccine. The Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) is in the process of assessing whether Norwegians generally deserve it offer a third dose or should it only be given to different vulnerable groups.

What are the vaccination statistics in Norway?

4 people were vaccinated with the first dose of the vaccine in Norway, FHI statistics reported on Monday. 168 people received the second dose. For those aged 477 and over, the percentages are 3 percent and 662 percent, respectively.
