In the first car to be stopped at exit checks at the Kivilompolo border station south of Kautokeino at 14pm on Thursday afternoon, police found 99 kilograms of fish. This qualified for a fine of 42 kronor. The fine was accepted and paid and all three were allowed to leave Norway.

Four hours later another car was stopped. Also in this car, three Poles were fined a total of 47 kronor for 000 kg of fish fillets.

- The fish has been commandeered. The fines were fixed and paid, and all six were allowed to travel on. Informs Operations Manager Tarjei Leinan Mathiesen in the Finnmark Police District.

The regulations say that when you leave Norway, you can bring 10 kilograms of fish or fish products from your own catch. If you have fished under the auspices of a registered fishing company, the export limit is a maximum of 20 kg of fish or fish products, provided that organized fishing can be documented.
