A woman from Sandnes has received more than NOK 4,2 million in compensation following negligence at Stavanger University Hospital.

- It's a very important verdict for her, because it's been a long battle. The whole thing was a huge burden for her and it is obviously a great joy when we finally win - she says lawyer Christian T. Asserson of Bull Årstad DA do Sandnesposten .

The woman received just over NOK 400 in Patient Injury Compensation (NPE) for the first time, but appealed the decision. She felt she was entitled to compensation for loss of income, which was not part of the NPE decision. Patient Injury Tribunal found no grounds to increase the compensation.
