Official opening of the Munch Museum

On Friday afternoon, King Harald and Queen Sonja officially opened the new Munch Museum in Bjørvika, Oslo.

Among the many present at the opening were also the Crown Prince and Crown Princess. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Labor) and Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt (Labor).

In his speech, King Harald said that Edvard Munch is shared property and that his art belongs to all of us, not just Norway.

- He painted his own life, and at the same time the existence in all of us - emphasized the king.

"Today we mark the beginning of Munch's new life," said the king
