The tragic aftermath of a long weekend
Corpus Christi, which we celebrated this year on Thursday, May 31.05, was a great opportunity to organize a short vacation. Beautiful weather encouraged to travel all over Poland, but the carefree detachment from everyday reality turned out to be dramatic. Counting from Wednesday to the end of the week, 27 people were killed in road accidents and 622 were injured. The number of intoxicated drivers detained by the police is staggering - as many as 1419 people. The balance of accidents leaves no illusions, it is not safe on Polish roads. However, be careful also when on vacation. At least 22 people lost their lives in the water over the long weekend. It should be mentioned that since April 1.04, over 100 people have already drowned.

Robert Brylewski is dead
The 57-year-old musician, co-founder of punk rock groups Kryzys and Brygada Kryzysu, as well as reggae bands (Armia i Izrael), died from a serious injury a few weeks ago. Until then, he was in a coma, from which it was impossible to wake him up. The news of the artist's death was sent by his family via a social networking site, while asking for their privacy to be respected in such difficult moments.
Polish gold smuggler captured in Sri Lanka
The man attempted to smuggle around 10 kilograms of gold in bars. He sewn them around the waist, the thickness of which aroused the interest of the customs services. The 60-year-old has traveled to Sri Lanka for the sixth time, perhaps his previous visits were also related to smuggling. The incident took place at the Katunayake airport in the west of the country.
Mysterious death of the councilor
The body of Paweł Chruszcz, a councilor from Głogów, was found in a forest near Droglowice, in the Lower Silesia Province. A bloodied man hanging from a power pole was noticed by fans from Głogów. There are many unexplained threads in the case, such as deleting the politician's account on the day his body was found or sending a message to Khrushche's friends with a map showing the place of his death. The family was disturbed by the mental state of the man, he lived under constant stress, he had seemed very depressed for some time. Some time ago, he took steps to explain the bizarrely low sale price of the kindergarten, which took place without a tender. According to the man who helped Khrushchev shed light on the matter, the councilor suddenly decided to withdraw for an unknown reason, suggesting that he was afraid for his own life. The cause of the councilor's death was asphyxiation, but the parent does not believe it was an act of suicide.
