The establishment of the Ministry of Sport and the new ministers of agriculture, funds and regional policy, climate and development are changes in the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. President Andrzej Duda appointed new members of the Council of Ministers at the request of the head of government. These changes respond to new challengesthat are facing the Polish government. They will allow for the implementation of further ambitious tasks.
Changes in the ministries of agriculture, funds and regional policy
Problems of agriculture and the areas where approx. 40% of people live and live. citizens, is one of the key challenges facing the government. Therefore, the position of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development was entrusted to Henryk Kowalczyk. This is an important area, therefore the newly appointed head of the ministry of agriculture will also take the position of deputy prime minister.
As a result of changes made at the request of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, the former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Grzegorz Puda, was appointed the head of the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy.
Ministry of Sport.
The separation of the sports ministry from the current Ministry of Culture and Sport is the only structural change in the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The work of the Ministry of Sport will be led by Minister Kamil Bortniczuk, and his work will be supported by Deputy Minister Łukasz Mejza.
The Ministry of Sport will continue all existing commitments of the Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport towards external entities, in particular regarding the preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Changes in the ministries of development and climate
As a result of changes in the composition government with the work of the Ministry of Climate and Environment will be managed by Anna Moskwa. She will replace the current head of this ministry, Michał Kurtyka. Piotr Nowak became the new minister in the Ministry of Development and Technology.
