Smeaheia area in Sandnes evacuated due to leakage from propane tank

The area at Smeaheia in the municipality of Sandnes was evacuated due to a leaking propane tank.

The buried propane tank belongs to the apartment house, Sørvest police say.

- The fire department recommends residents to evacuate due to the emptying of the tank. The Smeaheia school will be opened to evacuees, it was reported on Twitter.

The police are working to contact all those to be evacuated while the tank is being emptied in a controlled manner.

By 23.00 everyone could go home. The operation of emptying the tank was successful, luckily no one was hurt.
