There is agreement in budget negotiations between the SV and the government parties Ap and Sp, informs NRK. NTB also confirms this.
Three parties will present the deal in parliamentary groups this afternoon, writes NRK. SV will hold a digital group meeting.
Two weeks of negotiations
The talks started on Monday, November 15. After two weeks of negotiations, the parties had to come to an agreement, giving them enough time to agree everything before the presentation of the budget next Thursday.
The three negotiating leaders Eigil Knutsen (Labor), Sigbjørn Gjelsvik (Sp) and Kari Elisabeth Kaski (SV) stressed that a lot of progress had been made. But it was stormy from time to time.
After a week of negotiations, parliamentary leaders were reunited after the Labor Party and the SP agreed that progress on the budget was too slow. It was emphasized that they should only discuss the status and process and not go into actual negotiation topics.
. Combined party leaders
The three politicians are still holding their daily negotiation meetings. This weekend, talks were also raised to the level of party leaders for some clarification. According to Knutsen, party leaders did a good job of securing some of the issues negotiated by the three parties in the country.
Little has been revealed about the issues that caused the negotiating parties a particular headache. The call for negotiations comes as both the energy crisis and the coronavirus crisis characterize the news. It is not yet clear what this will be reflected in the budgetary effect.
