According to NAV the improvement in the labor market continued until October. The number of jobseekers has declined for seven consecutive months and now there are almost 70 fewer job seekers than in March. At the same time, there is a great demand for manpower and many vacancies are advertised, says Hans Christian Holte, director of labor and social services.
63 people were registered as completely unemployed at the end of October, which is 300 percent. manpower. The gross unemployment rate, i.e. the sum of the total unemployed and jobseekers based on measures, amounted to 79 people, i.e. 800% of the workforce. In addition, 41 people were registered as partially unemployed.
7400 fully unemployed people are made redundant, as are 12200 partially unemployed. The dismissed people together account for 0,7 percent of the workforce.
In October, 11 people registered as jobseekers with NAV, which corresponds to around 800 per working day.
The largest decline in tourism and transport
The number of jobseekers decreased in all occupational groups from September to October. Adjusted for normal seasonal fluctuations, the decline was greatest for those experienced in tourism and transport (-2700). In service occupations and other jobs (-1300), as well as in stores and sales (-900). The number of fully unemployed people decreased or remained unchanged in all occupational groups, while the number of partially unemployed decreased in all occupational groups.
At the end of October, the share of completely unemployed was the highest in tourism and transport (4,1% of the workforce), and the lowest in academic and education occupations - 0,7% in both cases.
The biggest drop in Oslo
The number of jobseekers dropped in all poviats in the last month, taking into account the normal seasonal fluctuations. The decline was greatest in Oslo (-8%), Viken (-7%) and Trøndelag (-7%). In all poviats, both the number of fully and partially unemployed people decreased.
The percentage of completely unemployed as a percentage of the workforce is highest in Oslo at 2,8% and lowest in Troms and Finnmark at 1,6%.
The greatest decrease in the age group of 40-59 years
The number of jobseekers decreased in all age groups from September to October. The largest decrease in the number of jobseekers took place among people aged 40-49 (-7%) and 50-59 (-7%).
The percentage of fully unemployed is highest in the 30-39 age group (3,0% of the workforce) and lowest among those under 20 (1,1% of the workforce).
High job demand
In October, 41 new vacancies were registered on arbeidplassen.no. This corresponds to 700 vacancies per working day
Most new job advertisements appeared in the fields of health, nursing and care (8100). At the same time, there is a high demand for stores and sales (4500), engineering and IT (4000) and construction (3900).
