From December 1, you can browse the art collection owned by the Drammen commune. WITHit contains works of art that can be viewed outside in schools, healthcare facilities and other municipal-owned buildings.
The digital art collection gives us new opportunities
The Art Database shows you where the artworks are, who made them and other interesting facts about the objects. The database is not complete, but new products are constantly being added. The first thing that shows up on the spot is art in outdoor spaces.
The art treasures owned by the Drammen commune are digitized
- We have been working on the launch of the website and the digitization of the art collection for some time. There are about 70 objects in the base now, but here we will keep replenishing until everything is in place. It is an important tool for us to make art more accessible to residents, tourists and us working with art and cultural heritage in the commune. The digital art collection gives us new opportunities to highlight what is owned by the municipality, says Vibeke Hermanrud, head of the arts and cultural heritage department.
Art in public space
Previously, the Drammen commune had a google map that depicted art in public space in the old commune. The new solution is more fit for purpose, offers greater possibilities and will cover the entire commune.
