Stavanger Municipality has a deal with seven pharmacies for vaccination against Covied-19.
The seven pharmacies are: Apotek1 Hjorten in Madla Amfi, Apotek 1 Kilden in Kilden Shopping Center, Apotek 1 Tasta in Tastasenteret, Boots apotek Hundvåg in Hundvågsenteret, Ditt apotek Tvedt Senter in Tvedtsentveneret, Margarie's pharmacy in Marapotiero and the Vitus Ingiero Center Vitø in the Vitø Inapotveneret. in Mariero.
Increases accessibility
Pharmacies are selected based on geographic location and availability. Most of them are located in malls that have long opening hours and good parking possibilities.
- We are pleased with the conclusion of this agreement. This means that we are increasing our vaccination capacity even more. We invite those who have not yet received the vaccine, says health and social care director Eli Karin Fosse.
Technical Director Hanne Andresen of the Pharmaceutical Association says pharmacies are highly motivated to do so.
- It's great that Stavanger Municipality provides residents with the opportunity to get vaccinated also in pharmacies. Pharmacies are seen as readily available, which can lower the threshold for vaccine availability, whether it's a refreshment dose or one of the first two doses. Pharmacies are looking forward to it, says Andresen.

Some pharmacies will also be able to vaccinate on Saturdays
The pharmacy contract will complement the current immunization program of the commune. The national standard agreement made it easier for municipalities to establish vaccine cooperation with pharmacies.
- The advantage of pharmacies is that they can be vaccinated both during the day and in the evening. Some pharmacies will also be able to vaccinate on Saturdays. The increased availability is very good. This goes beyond getting more people to get vaccinated in the 25-39 age group, where vaccination coverage is still low, says Eli Karin Fosse.
