NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg has a new job

Jens Stoltenberg graduated in Economics from the University of Oslo in 1987. Since 2014, he has been the secretary general of NATO. Before that, he had a long career in Norwegian politics. He was, inter alia, party leader in the Labor Party, prime minister, minister of finance and minister of business and energy. The current head of NATO has been the prime minister of Norway twice. It comes from the Labor Party, which is currently ruling Norway.

Jens Stoltenberg will step down as NATO secretary general

The date of accession is planned for around 1 December. Ultimately, it will be decided by signing an employment contract in the near future.

Stoltenberg will step down as NATO Secretary General at the end of September 2022.

The current central bank governor, Øystein Olsen, asked to step down on March 1, 2022. Vice President Ida Wolden Bache was appointed interim president of the central bank from March 1, 2022 until Jens Stoltenberg took office.
