The municipality of Trondheim is the first municipality to benefit from the new joint medical documentation solution Helseplattformen from 30 April. But more communes are coming. So far, 38 municipalities in central Norway have decided to start preparations for the introduction of the Helseplattformen.
Helseplattformen is a large service improvement project health and patients in central Norway. Now health care points and municipalities cooperate on a common digital platform. The new medical documentation solution will support medical staff in their work, and the citizen will gain better insight through civic portal HelsaMi. Together with the hospital of St. Olaf, the municipality of Trondheim will benefit from the solution from April 30.
Signing a contract
Røros and Holtålen are two municipalities after Trondheim that were the first to sign the so-called a service agreement with the company Helseplattformen.
The service contract governs the relationship between the municipalities and Helseplattformen. It is a binding agreement for joining the Helseplattformen and for the introduction and implementation of the solution. The contract was negotiated in cooperation between representatives of the municipalities of Trondheim and Helseplattformen.
The agreement regulates the liability between the individual municipalities and the Helseplattformen. This applies, inter alia, to in the field of finances and the needs of the commune, in order to be able to influence the further development of this solution. The agreement also addresses important areas such as personal data, archiving and change management.
Several municipalities are preparing to introduce the new solution
Røros and Holtålen are preparing in full swing to introduce a new medical documentation solution. In Helseplattformen, all health services work in the same system. Everyone in both communes primary care doctors are paid by the commune. However, in the municipality of Trondheim, almost all general practitioners are self-employed. This means that residents of two municipalities will be the first in Norway to have common medical records both in the main municipality and in the specialized health service.
Røros and Holtålen will introduce the Helseplattformen in November 2022. The municipalities of Os, Indre Fosen, Ørland, Åfjord, Verdal and Levanger are also expected to join then. This will be at the same time as the hospitals in Nord-Trøndelag.
A new introductory round will take place in April 2023; when 10 new municipalities will be added along with hospitals in Møre og Romsdal.
In total, 38 of the 66 municipalities considered the matter in municipal councils and agreed to start a preliminary project.
Together with Helse Midt-Norge, the municipality of Trondheim owns the Helseplattformen. Wenche P. Dehli Director of Health and Social Services in Trondheim Municipality says it is very gratifying that Røros and Holtålen are the first to sign a service contract and are also the first to enter as owners with the Municipality of Trondheim.
What is Helseplattformen?
Healthcare today uses various medical record systems that are not "communicating". As a patient, you have to repeat your story every time you see a new doctor, for example. Patient safety is enhanced by having the right information at the right time collected on the same platform.
Now, health care professionals receive an effective work tool in which all patient data is in one place and they do not have to waste time searching for and requesting information.
The health service in central Norway will be the first in the country with a joint patient record. The health platform follows the patient in all meetings with the health service - at the emergency room, medical clinic, health clinic or hospital.
