Wearing seat belts is the simplest and most effective way to reduce the number of people killed and seriously injured in road traffic. By wearing a seat belt, you not only protect yourself, but also others from injury in the event of an accident.
What if you are seen without a seat belt or without a helmet by one of the Statens vegvesen inspectors? You will then be directed to a checkpoint and charged with a fine of NOK 1500.
