Polish Saturday schools in Norway, but also in other countries around the world, are schools that were established for children and young people from Polish families living abroad. The aim of these schools is to preserve and develop the Polish language and culture among the young generation. It is also to enable them to communicate better with their parents and distant relatives living in Poland. Usually Polish Saturday schools they take place on weekends and are run by volunteers or teachers employed by Polish associations. Some of them also teach Polish in addition to Polish history of Poland, as well as other subjects such as geography. Polish schools develop and strengthen the bond with Poland by providing knowledge about Polish history and culture.

Polish Saturday schools are important for Polish families because they enable them to maintain their cultural and linguistic identity. Children studying in such schools they have the opportunity to establish contact with other children from the Polish community, build relationships that often result in friendships for many years. Children also learn about their own roots and traditions.
