On Friday, March 10 in Narvik commune. Narvik Civil Defense, Narvik Police Station and HV-16 troops will conduct joint total defense exercises.
In connection with the Joint Viking 2023 exercises, practical classes will be held on March 6-16 in the municipality of Narvik. On March 10, the total defense actors will conduct joint operations in this area with various elements of exercises.

The civil defense will also practice the evacuation of the Beisfjord population, which the residents of Beisfjord will experience in the form of a short home visit. No one can be physically evacuated. Narvik Municipality will rehearse its crisis team and the police will be an active part of the practice game.
In addition, there will be military traffic on the roads.
From March 7-13, a trial of the local homeland security area is taking place, among other things, to protect the port of Narvik.
Joint Warrior and Joint Viking
The UK-led Joint Warrior exercise as well as the Norwegian-led Joint Viking exercise are currently underway in the High North. That's over 20 soldiers from around nine allied and partner countries on land, sea and air.
