Who is Rafał Gaweł?

Co-founder of the Center for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behavior - was accused of fraud and extortion for the amount of several hundred thousand zlotys. The aggrieved parties were the owners of companies with whom Rafał Gaweł did business, a bank (PLN 220) or the Fundacja im. Stefan Batory (PLN 107 thousand). According to the latest information, the Bialystok Court of Appeal reduced the prison sentence to two years. The lowering of the sentence was influenced by the fact that the accused had returned part of the grant he had received, which he had used for private purposes.
