Have you ever observed uncivil conversations in discussion groups on the popular social networking site Facebook? Or maybe you have noticed the ubiquitous hate and offensive content? Unfortunately, there is more and more of this on the Internet. An avalanche of hate pours out from virtually every direction. "Landlordity" is particularly visible in more or less popular discussion groups. Administrators are often there, but unfortunately they don't do anything about it. Content control on Facebook is a must. What changes can we expect soon?
Content control on Facebook - no more impunity and anonymity on the web ...
Facebook has long announced tightening regulations related to the use of individual functions of the website. Discussion groups are to be scrutinized first and foremost. Increased vigilance is to be placed on these closed discussion groups. Here, there is often no control over what is posted within a given group or over comments and their level under posts. Facebook will ban groups with vulgar content. If another new group has a similar name or activity profile similar to the one previously removed, they are also to be "preventively banned".
What will Facebook content control be like? How to fight hate online?
The hate on the web is a fact. We wrote about this issue in our article: Cyberbullying in Norway - how to fight it? .The aforementioned cyberbullying on the web can actually take on various harmful faces:
- offensive entries on the portal,
- vulgar comments,
- photos and videos published on the Internet - harming the welfare of another person.
Controlling content on Facebook can help, but we also need to take action. Say a firm and decisive "no" to the hatred spreading everywhere. See an offensive post? Don't stand and watch idly, let Facebook know when such a post appears. In this aspect, the administration of this portal works really quickly - from the moment of receiving such a notification. Do you see an uncivil conversation? Try to "relieve the bad atmosphere and tension." First of all, do not join groups whose quality you have greater or lesser doubts about. These are small gestures, but very important!
