Telenor and Telia warn that scammers have gotten smarter and send fake invoices by e-mail to extort money.
False invoices are sent to customers of telecommunications companies at the same time as the companies themselves send out actual invoices, warn Telenor and Telia. They ask customers to pay attention to suspicious emails.
Among other things, this could mean that you have paid double and to get the money back you need to click on the link and enter your account information. False invoices also come with a time pressure warning, writes NRK.
Security advisor Thorbjørn Busch at Telenor says the links in these invoices are likely to lead to a bogus website. There it is requested to provide account information so that "Telenor" or "Telia" can refund the overpayment.
If you do not do this in time, there is a risk that your subscription will be blocked. You also get information that the money you have will permanently disappear.
