According to the Norwegian Health Directorate, total or partial closure may be necessary if current measures do not reduce the infection.

Closing kindergartens and banning events and gyms are among the measures the Norwegian Health Directorate believes may be relevant if current measures are not working well enough, writes VG on Friday.

– If the situation develops quickly in the wrong direction, further measures may be necessary. This could mean a complete or partial shutdown of society, he writes Norwegian Directorate of Health in its most recent professional assessment before the measures were introduced.

The restrictions, which were introduced and take effect at midnight on Thursday, are initially valid for four weeks but will be reconsidered in two weeks.

Nakstad: The closure of Norway is real

Deputy Director of Health, Espen Rostrup Nakstad, believes it will be a week before you want to see if the measures have any effect.

Already on Wednesday this week, people began to change their behavior and wear masks. Then it may be another week before we see a change in hospital admissions. The next decisions should be made in 14 days, he says.
