– There are more and more elderly people in Norway. In 2035, we expect the age group 67 and over to increase by 32 percent, bringing about 285 more people, says Lien.
By 2035, the number of people over 75 years of age is expected to increase by 45%. Big growth among the oldest means strong increase in the number of retirees and aid recipients.

One in ten retirees works
– This does not mean they have stopped working as it is possible to draw your pension at the same time as you are fully or partially employed. About 117 retirees, just over one in ten, work full or part time, explains Lien.
At the end of March 2023, there were also 88 single retirees receiving the minimum pension. This is 9 percent more than in the previous month.
