It is important to know that receiving an emergency notification is free. You also don't need to register or download the app. Alerts are sent over the air and do not use any recipient information.

Nødvarsel does not use your phone number or any other information about you. Therefore, it doesn't matter what subscription you have, where you live or work, or where your phone is registered.

You must have 4G or 5G coverage from your operator to receive emergency notifications. The phone should also be updated with the appropriate software.
