The Norwegian Public Roads Authority begins its annual spring cleaning of national roads in Østfold and Follo on the evening of March 19. The works are carried out in the evenings and at night and are scheduled to be completed by May 10 - we read in information from Statens vegvesen.

Cleaning of the main road network in Østfold and Follo
Spring cleaning, i.e. removing road dust, contributes to both improved air quality and safety traffic road.
Norwegian's contractor is responsible for spring maintenance of national and European roads in Østfold and Follo Public Roads Authority, Mesta company.
They sweep, wash and rinse road surfaces, sidewalks and bicycle paths, balustrades, signs and signaling systems - i.e. the entire national road network and all installations along the road. In addition, they collect garbage and empty sandboxes.
Working at night when there is less traffic
Cleaning works on both carriageways, sidewalks and cycle paths mainly start at 21.00:06.00 p.m. and end earlier than XNUMX:XNUMX a.m. the following morning. The exception is E18 Mysen-Ørje, between which the contractor will work between 09.00 and 14.00.
In parallel with the cleanup, crews are making a series of inspections and minor repairs and improvements to fences, signs and more.
– Our contractor works mainly in the evening and at night, when there is little traffic and does not disturb so many drivers. Thanks to this work on the roads will be safer for crews, says construction manager Kim Eirik Kongshaug from the Norwegian Public Roads Authority.
It appeals to road users to pay attention to workers, drive carefully and respect roadblocks.
Spring cleaning mainly at night
On the night of April 22, E6 Årum-Lekvoll will be completely closed due to spring cleaning. E18 between Oslo and Vinterbro will be completely closed due to spring cleaning from Friday, April 19, from 21.00 p.m. to Saturday, April 20, until 09.00 a.m. There will be detours.
