Controversy around Facebook

More and more people decide to delete their Facebook accounts due to the recent scandals that have erupted around this social networking site. The largest one is related to the uncontrolled outflow of user data to Cambridge Analytica, which could have influenced the voting results during the last elections in United States. FROM founding the company Cambridge Analytica is about collecting data to create appropriate networks of users, connected to each other in one way or another.

It would not be surprising if not for the fact how the company decided to collect the data. In the first place, they were obtained through the so-called "Anonymous data collection application for research purposes". They turned out to be insufficient for Cambridge Analytica, so they decided to conduct "anonymous surveys, for which you could earn anywhere from a dollar to two for one form to complete." However, in order to withdraw money, you had to download an application that accessed all the data contained in your Facebook account.

Shocking scale

As it turned out, such activities allowed the collection of private information about over 50 people millions users. Due to the logic of operation of this company and the fact that personalized content can be created based on the collected data, it is believed that such activities could have had a decisive impact on Donald Trump's victory in the last presidential election in USA. The situation is even more controversial afterniebecause Cambridge Analytica obtained this data in a not entirely official and legal way.
