In today's qualifiers - the prologue in Vikersund as part of RAW AIR, he was again under the sign of Kamil Stoch. He jumped 242 meters and stood on the highest place on the podium again. It is worth mentioning that in training before today's competition Markus Eisenblicher was the farthest away, while our compatriot was placed 4th. As it turned out, jumps performed during training do not always reflect the current form.

Difficult conditions

Today's qualifying started with a 30-minute delay. The reason was unfavorable weather conditions. Despite this, it was decided that the jumps in Vikersund would take place, but they would be performed from the 11th starting beam. The jumpers were hampered by strong wind, which also affected the results and the style of some competitors. Especially difficult conditions were visible in the flight of Kazakh Marat Zhaparov. He had to protect himself from a serious fall and therefore landed only at 93 meters.

The first athlete to overcome 200 meters was Japanese Yukita Sato. After raising the beam to 14, he jumped on distance 205,5 meters. The first to start in Sunday's individual competition were the Germans: Karl Geiger (210 meters) and Richard Freitag (215 meters).

All Poles in an individual competition

All Polish competitors performed as expected. The weakest jump was Jakub Wolny, who landed on 182,5 meters and it was not known for a long time whether he would ultimately qualify for Sunday's competition. David Kubacki he jumped 206,5 meters, but received an additional 30 points for wind. Maciej Kot also qualified, jumping 207,5 meters, as well as Piotr Żyła (200 meters) and Stefan Hula (214,5 meters).

Kamil Stoch dominates again

He performed the best among Poles Kamil Stoch, which has been in phenomenal form recently. His fans might have been a bit worried after his training jumps, which he finished in 4th place. However, in decisive moments Pole it doesn't disappoint this season. He flew 242 meters and won today's qualification with a huge point advantage.

The individual competition in Vikersund will take place on Sunday, with the start scheduled for 16:30 p.m. and this will be the last competition of this year. RAW AIR. The day before, on Saturday, March 17.03.2018, XNUMX, there will be a team competition. However, Kamil Stoch can already be happy today
