Jerzy Janowicz is a Polish tennis player who became known, among others as the first semi-finalist of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament in 2013. However, he played his last match a year ago in Bratislava. As officially stated on social media, he does not rule out ending his career. The reason is knee problems.

The decisive tournament in Sopot

According to the Polish Fank Klub Jerzy Janowicz, the player is currently preparing for the tournament, which will take place on Saturday. Its course will be crucial for the decision that the Polish tennis player will make. Let us remind you that he has recently had problems with his knee. It may turn out that the injury cannot be healed enough to return to professional tennis. It will be an irreparable loss for Polish sport.

He celebrated successes

Jerzy Janowicz was the first Polish tennis player to qualify for the semi-finals of the Grand Slam tournament. It took place in 2013 during the Wimbledon competition - the most prestigious competition in this sport discipline. He was also a promising player who qualified for the finals of the Junior Grand Slam competition, such as US Open 2007, French Open 2008 etc. During his career, he was also a 2015 Hopman Cup winner. He also represented Poland in the Davis Tournament.

He was ranked highest in singles, in 14th place.
