Rescuers from Trolltunga. Trolltunga is one of the most beautiful places in Norway. However, getting there requires a 10-hour mountain route, which few tourists remember. The rescuers themselves admit that they have seen almost everything. A typical case is a "short walk" in flip-flops or high heels.
In flip-flops, without water and preparation
The list of sins of tourists going to Trolltunga is much longer. The rescuers are most surprised by the carelessness of people who want to overcome the route with children without proper preparation. The basic condition of security is, among others having drinking water, additional rainwear and proper footwear. Meanwhile, many people "go for a short walk" without the necessary equipment.
It is to be up to 100 thousand. tourists
Rescuers from Trolltunga predict that this place may be visited by up to 2018 people in 100. tourists and it will be 20 thousand more than a year ago. In 2017, the Odd city authorities introduced, among others: limit of people on the trail at one time. The effects were far from expected – long queues did not discourage visitors. They only made them more impatient. Mayor Odda announces "new and better ideas" to improve safety on Trolltunga.

A year ago, volunteer Red Cross patrols were also introduced for the first time. This solution brought the expected results, because thanks to them, hundreds of irregularities were detected, and the number of reported incidents was reduced by half. Therefore, the cooperation of the Red Cross with the rescuers will be continued also this year.
