Trolltunga is one of Norway's most picturesque and spectacular cliffs, rising 700 meters above Lake Ringedalsvatnet. Situated on the western tip of the Hardangervidda plateau, near the city of Odda, Trolltunga was carved by a glacier that once covered most of Scandinavia.
The hike through the alpine terrain to Trolltunga (1180 m) is long and challenging, but the efforts are rewarded with wonderful views.
From the main trail on the P2 in Skjeggedal, the round trip is 27 km. The estimated hike time is 8-12 hours depending on your condition.
- P1 car park in Tyssedal - 40 kilometers both ways to Trolltunga The price of the car park is CZK 300 per day. There is a shuttle bus from there to points P2 and P3.
- P2 car park in Skjeggedal - 28 kilometers round trip to Trolltunga The parking price is CZK 500 per day. There is a shuttle bus from there to point P3.
- P3 car park in Mågelitopp - 20 kilometers round trip to Trolltunga. The parking price is CZK 600 per day.
Wanderers must be properly equipped and in good shape.
When is the best time to get Troll's Tongue?
You can go to Trolltunga almost all year round.
01 June - 30 September
Guided hikes are recommended, but experienced hikers can hike on their own.
October 1 - May 31

Trolltunga-Troll's Tongue. How to get, where to stay?
The best solution is to stay overnight in Odda or its surroundings - there are a few hotels and a camping site there. There are also many buses from Odda to Skjeggedal, where the climb begins. However, if we want to travel by car, with Odda follow the road RV 13 to Tyssedal and then follow the road signposted to Skjeggedal.
