Post-apocalyptic vision of the world in Stargard

The abandoned airport near Stargard near Szczecin from 13 to 19 July annually, since 2005, has become the space of Old Town - a town after a nuclear holocaust, straight out of science-fiction games and movies. Post-apocalyptic amateurs from many parts of the world, including Israel, Australia and Finland, come to the festival, organized by less than 200 volunteers.

Interesting city game

They take part in a specific game, dressing up in colorful costumes and taking on the roles they play during these special days. They also take part in competitions - incl. for the best disguise. Some group into teams fighting each other and take on various challenges that make the original event more attractive.

The town is self-sufficient

The town is self-sufficient, there are restaurants, crafts and hospitals; there is even its own currency. The Old Town space is there full of surprises, tasks and secrets that climate enthusiasts must face. The program also includes numerous workshops, shows and concerts, perfectly complementing the atmosphere.

The event is loud

The event echoes widely in the world of cinema. The level presented by the costumes of the participants or the details of the town is appreciated by people working in the film industry (especially set design) and who are also members of the jury at the festival. It is an absolute phenomenon that a thousand people with such great passion play the roles in the alternative world after the nuclear war. Jakub Gibowski, one of the organizers of the event, points out that most members of this fan community return to Old Town every year. It is estimated that it is up to 90% of participants.
