According to the Norwegian police, a 17-year-old suspected of murdering a 13-year-old was arrested. Her body was found early Monday morning in the village of Varhaug. The adolescent's body has not been autopsied, so it is not yet known exactly what caused her death. An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances of the crime.

[UPDATE] 01.08.2018/13/11 XNUMX:XNUMX

Police performed an autopsy of the body. Thereby it was confirmed that Sunniva was murdered. The 17-year-old detained will be questioned again tomorrow.

A cut conversation

Sunniva Odegard was coming home on Sunday night. At that time, she was talking to her friend on the phone. As a friend relates, the telephone conversation suddenly ended at some point - “I'm already at home. Cholera!" - these were the last words the teenager said. Then contact with her ceased, and this happened at 22:30.

The family notified the police of the disappearance

The same evening, a concerned family notified the police of Sunniva's disappearance. They decided to take this step after the teenager did not return home at the agreed time and it was impossible to contact her because she did not answer the phone. The police immediately started a search. Sunniva was found dead on a path approximately 150 meters from the house.

Many unanswered questions

The investigation into the explanation of the circumstances of the death is conducted by an experienced private detective, Find Abrahamsen. In an interview with NRK.no, he claims that there are many questions that are still unanswered. It is not known whether the place where the body was found is the place of the murder, the motives and causes of the murder are unknown, and it is not known exactly when the crime was committed. We will know some of the answers after performing a body autopsy.

The 17-year-old's relationship with the case

The 17-year-old Norwegian murder suspect is known to the police. However, he was never registered for any acts of violence. It is worth mentioning that the detainee reported voluntarily to the police station as a witness. He claims to have been present at the scene. During the interrogation, his status changed from "witness" to "suspect". It was decided to arrest him for a period of two weeks until the matter was resolved.
