Everyone who lives in Rogaland must have heard the famous slogan ´nok er nok´ recently. We watch with a slight disbelief as Statens Vegvesen installs and finishes another of the 38 goals, which are to make our rounds more pleasant for all of us.

New fees from 1st October

From October 1, we will be able to enjoy tolls at the level of CZK 44 per gate. Of course, we can easily save by staying home during peak times. (If someone has a good boss who doesn't react two hours late - every day!). We can also stop driving altogether or recognize that by spending over three thousand per person on gates per month, we help the environment.

We can buy an electric car - if we like electrics or we are satisfied with a strict dictatorship that imposes on us what kind of car we should drive. The ecological aspect of electric cars also leaves much to be desired. Firstly, electricity production is not always environmentally friendly, and secondly, batteries used for electricians are supposedly environmentally lethal.

When there are children in the family

The problem really starts when there are children in our family. Which, by some strange coincidence, we would sometimes like to bring to extracurricular group activities, for entertainment or for the purposes of intellectual development. For each such trip, we can add an average of fifty crowns, and when we multiply it by 20 days…. The cost of daily living increases drastically.

Agnes Martin-Hoogewerf on the new road gates in Stavanger. Silent protests

It has been known about the goals for a long time, but the protests are only starting now. However, we wonder more and more often and more openly whether they will bring any effect. For a joke, the price list was posted on the gate, which currently exists on the highway to Stavanger. Converting all prices to 00 NOK, but that also didn't make much impression, apart from smiles.

What rules does Norway follow when suddenly such enormous fees are charged to citizens and no one can really oppose it?

The Norwegians don't seem to have any idea other than silent protests. Is the land of oil wealth slowly running out of oil mining money? What is really behind the goals?

For now, it is known that there will be goals

So far it is known that the decision was made by Statens Vegvesen. We also know that the tolls will be NOK 22 for off-peak travel. During peak hours (7-9 and 15-17) the price will double to NOK 44 per trip. There are also rumors that the so-called dice used to pay the discount will be withdrawn, and the gates will automatically delete us by reading the registration number of our car. So far, the issue of future fees for electric car owners has not yet been fully resolved.
