Polish film music enjoys great respect and recognition all over the world. It is the first of a series of festival events as part of the 5th edition of Polish Film Days in Fredrikstad and Oslo. Its beauty will be shown on October 6 in Cosmopolite located in the capital of Norway - Oslo. The concert will be additionally preceded by the screening of the outstanding Polish film directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski, "Three Colors: Red".

It will start with the movie

The concert will be preceded by the screening of the film "Trzy Colors: Red" directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski. The production was made in 1994 and is the culmination of the film trilogy about the fundamental values ​​of the French Revolution. The first production in this series was "Three Colors: Blue" about freedom, and the second was "Three Colors: White", which dealt with the issue of freedom. The theme of "Three Colors: Red" is brotherhood and, as Per Haddal wrote in a review published in Aftenposten - "Red is the crowning achievement of the trilogy and at the same time an outstanding example of European cinema." In 2017, the production was also honored with the second place in the Best Movies of All Time ranking by Metacritic.

Later discussion ...

After the film, a discussion panel with the artists will start at 19:15. It will be led by Magdalena Tutka-Gwóźdź. Participants will have the opportunity to talk both in Polish and in Norwegian. Issues such as:

• Is there a recipe for a good mix of sound and image in movies?
  
• Does music have a significant influence on the way the film is received?
  
• What was the reason for the success of the Kieślowski - Preisner duo?

… And finally music

A 30-minute break is foreseen after the end of the discussion panel. A concert of film music inspired by the works of Krzysztof Kieślowski: "The Double Life of Weronika", "The Decalogue" and the trilogy "Three Colors" is to begin at 20:30 pm. All soundtracks were composed by Zbigniew Preisner, who brought a lot of quality to these adaptations.

Voice and piano

Barbara Hortyńska will play the piano during the concert. She graduated from the Academy of Music in Poznań and the Academy of Music in Wrocław. She is a laureate of a number of prestigious competitions, such as the International Competition of Johann Sebastian Bach in Poland. He also has, among others, solo performances at the Philharmonic in Krakow. This year she recorded her album, on which she performed compositions by Karol Szymanowski and Fryderyk Chopin. She also plans to go on a tour of the United States, during which she will promote the effects of cooperation with various composers, including those from the genre of film music.

Vocal skills will be presented by Kamila Goik. She is a young singer who made her debut in 2018 performing the Sandrina act from Mozart's "La Finta Giardinera". In her IPIUM Silesia project "Szkice do opera" she interpreted the role of Papagena in "The Magic Flute" and Despina in "Cosi fan Tutte". Her musical interests include not only opera - she also deals with contemporary music, including film music. She is a laureate of many prestigious competitions, and one of the greatest achievements is the second place in the international competition IUVENTUS CANTI in Vráble, Slovakia.
