At the second stage of the Volleyball World Championship, the Poles joined the group with France, Serbia and Argentina. Michał Kubiak did not play in the first two clashes, and our compatriots lost successively to Argentina (3: 2) and France (3: 1). In the end, however, they defeated the Serbs (3: 0) and advanced to the final six of the tournament.
Polish team under construction
After the Poles won the title of World Champions, many players resigned from the national team. The national team coach also changed - Stephan Antiga was replaced by Vital Heynen. That's why Polish fans weren't sure what potential this team had. This year World Cup however, they show that the team has great potential, despite the fact that it is under construction.

Five wins in a row
The Polish national team won all five matches in the first phase of the tournament. They secured a set of points after winning against Cuba (3: 1), Puerto Rico (3: 0), Finland (3: 1), Bulgaria (3: 1) and Iran (3: 0). As it turned out, thanks to this point advance, despite two defeats in the next stage of the tournament, the Poles advanced to the final "six" of the tournament.
Two defeats and a victory
Michał Kubiak did not play in the first two matches with Argentina (2-3) and France (1-3). There was no captain on the pitch - Polish volleyball players played without the joy and faith that characterized them in their first five victories. In the decisive clash with Serbia (3: 0) our representatives played exemplary. They did not allow themselves to get even one set out, and as Bartosz Kurek said for WP.pl - it was their best match at the Championships.

Third group phase
Only six teams will play in the third group stage. The teams of Russia, the United States, Italy, Serbia, Brazil and Poland advanced to this phase of the tournament. These teams will be split into two groups, with only two teams going through to the semi-finals. All matches will be played in Turin.
